Violett Beane doesn’t know if she believes in ghosts. “Our hair artist at the time said that she felt, like, a hand come across her and wind on her neck,” Beane said. “She ran out of the room and just freaked out.”There’s no freaking-out onscreen when Beane’s character, Imogene Scott, is thrown together with Rufus Cotesworth, once the world’s greatest detective, played by Mandy Patinkin. “He’s a legend,” Beane said of Patinkin. “He brings this sort of magnitude with him, and he never misses.

I was an NBC page two weeks laterIt was 1976 and I was 20, still in college and clueless. Now in its 90th year, the NBC Page program is one of the most prestigious entry-level positions in the entertainment industry. I wish I could tell you there was one straight, surefire way to becoming an NBC page, but there isn't. My other friend Al got his NBC page job when the women who worked behind the scenes on "Wheel of Fortune" spotted him as a contestant on the show. She is the author of "My Peacock Tale: Secrets of an NBC Page."

Robin Wagner, the inventive Tony Award-winning set designer of more than 50 Broadway shows, including the 1978 musical “On the Twentieth Century,” in which a locomotive appeared to be racing toward the audience with the actress Imogene Coca strapped to the front of it, died on Monday at his home in New York City. His daughter Christie Wagner Lee confirmed the death but said she did not yet know the specific cause. She did not say in what borough he lived. Mr. Wagner designed sets on Broadway, Off Broadway and for regional theater, for operas and ballets, and, in 1975, for the Rolling Stones’ Tour of the Americas. His stage for those concerts was shaped like a six-pointed lotus flower that was raked upward to the back in a delicate curve.
